NSBM declares open its IT R&D and Business Incubation Center


Keeping in line with NSBM’s vision of producing globally employable graduates, NSBM’s IT R&D and Business Incubation Center was declared open last week under the distinguished patronage of Hon. Dr. Sarath Amunugama – Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development and Vocational Training & Upcountry Heritage at the Students Center of NSBM Green University Town, Pitipana, Homagama.


At this phase, three companies namely 99X Technology Limited, Omobio Private Limited and Creative Technology Solutions Private Limited (Creative Software) have commenced operations and offered 30 full time internship opportunities to undergraduates of NSBM to undergo training within this NSBM IT R&D and Business Incubation Centre.


Hon. Dr. Sarath Amunugama also participated in the event of the official exchange of MoUs with Mr. Anura Adikari – Senior Tech Lead & University Relationship Manager of 99X Technology, Mr. Sushena Ranathuna – CEO of Creative Software, and Mr. Eranga Weeraratne - CEO of Omobio, which was followed by the handover of letters of appointment to the NSBM undergraduates who have attained internships with the aforementioned companies. 


NSBM’s ‘Industry Partnership Program’(IPP) is designed to optimize synergies among the Industry Partners and NSBM in relation to Entry Level Talent Acquisition (Internship / Training), Employer Brand Building, Knowledge Sharing, Corporate Brand Building, Special Projects, Incubation / Entrepreneurship Development and Talent Acquisition of fresh graduates.


All undergraduate programs of NSBM are designed to enable the students to gain the much-needed Industry Exposure, on a full-time basis, from the end of their 2nd year of study onwards, where lectures for 3rd and 4thyears are conducted only on weekends. This is a unique feature of NSBM which assures employability of graduates.


NSBM Green University Town (www.nsbm.lk ) is a fully pledged University Town, built on a 26-acre premise at Homagama. It will record the highest student population among the state and private universities by the end of year 2018. NSBM offers UGC approved and foreign undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in three streams, namely; Business Management, Computing and Engineering.
