ICOBI 2018 International Conference on Business Innovation


NSBM, being the pioneer catalyst of the higher education field in Sri Lanka maked  its presence again with NSBM’s first International Conference on Business Innovation [ICOBI 2018]. ICOBI was held on the 25th of August, Saturday at NSBM Green University Town. Many revered academics and other dignitaries graced this event and support NSBM in their attempt to craft a responsible research culture. Sri Lanka’s only Nobel co-laureate, Prof. Mohan Munasinghe was invited to deliver the key note address at this international conference took ICOBI towards admirable heights. Hon. Dr. Sarath Amunugama (Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development & Vocational Training and Kandyan Heritage) graced as chief guest to inaugurate this event.

The conference was supported over 40 research articles by both local and foreign researchers and academics. The conference had more than 30 international and local research papers and the international participants representing United Kingdom, Ireland, India and Malaysia.

Staying true to NSBM’s vision and drive towards green living and sustainability, the theme of the conference is Business Resurgence and Green Living. Each of the papers presented at ICOBI conforms to this timely theme and joins a vibrant global discussion on green innovation.

NSBM has organized this international symposium in a period where green living is gradually but steadily becoming a lifestyle choice for Sri Lankans. Therefore, the platform created by ICOBI for discussion on green living and sustainability will be a massive support for green researchers in their academic endeavours.

NSBM into ac.lk domain: NSBM made another move towards being a truly academic organization by receiving the ac.lk domain. NSBM website www.nsbm.lk is now directed via www.nsbm.ac.lk domain. Minister Hon. Dr. Sarath Amunugama launched the new NSBM URL on conference day.
