The management of NSBM Green University Town hosted the first ever NSBM Talent Show and Pageant - Green Flames, a festive event that showcased students’ talents via various entertainment items on 09th August 2019 from 5.30 PM onwards, within the NSBM premises.
A breath-taking stage, like never before, was created at the NSBM premises to give the audience a unique experience. It is a creative masterpiece, a floating stage which was created on the large pond in the middle of the University.
The Top 10 finalists of the Talent Show were chosen by 2 initial audition rounds and the 12 finalists were chosen for each NSBM Mr & Ms. Pageants, with the judgement of the panel which consisted of industry experts of the relevant fields. The variety of unique Talents of the finalists added glamour and a thrilling experience for the audience.
The event was graced with the presence of Hon. Buddhika Pathirana and he was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E A Weerasinghe and Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake of NSBM Green University Town.
Further, with over a crowd of 2000 to witness the exciting evening, Associate Prof. Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Deans of the three Faculties, School of Business, Computing and Engineering together with other academic and non-academic staff also participated at the event.
NSBM Green University Town is the first ever green university in South Asia and sets an example for the whole of South Asia by paving the way for environmental sustainability. The university opens a platform for both national & international student communities and it has turned a new chapter in Sri Lankan higher education. NSBM Green University is established under the Ministry Skills Development and Vocational Training. This state-of-the-art university currently has 9000 undergraduates studying in three faculties of Management, Computing and Engineering degree programs which are internationally and nationally recognized, including UGC approved degree programs, and foreign degree programs.
